Protective Coatings are called Industrial Coatings too.
Which is used to decorate, protect the substrate. They provide resistance to corrosion, abrasion, alkalis & acids salt, water and so on .
  
N. C. Lacquer : are Nitro cellulose Lacquer, fast drying, single component eco-friendly easy to use. Used on Cars, Motorcycles, Scooters, Truck bodies etc. 
Only few years back there was only one systems that is
Lacquer. Apply quick setting primer, fill the dents with N.C. putty, rub the same  with sand paper, apply primer surface Grey and than apply the colour of your choice, to get desired gloss apply rubbing polish.
Mode of application : spray, brush.
 

Polyurethane : Now a days a new system like polyurethane  have been developed and all new cars, scooter & motorcycles are painted with this system.
They are more durables, attractive, require no rubbing. Lacquers to be rubbed by rubbing 

polish to get the required gloss. Where as fast drying enamel & acrylics.
PU coatings does not require any rubbing. There is instant  gloss which
is retained for considerable long period.They are popularly known as 2K syatem. One can get any colour matched at 2K dealer.
Available in metallic & non-metallies shades.
Brands Available : Asian paints, Nerolac paints, ICI, Dupont, Akzo Nobel.
Mode of application- Spray in a paint booth only.
 

Auto Refinishing : This is nothing but enamel paints, takes almost 12-16 hrs for hard drying  but still called fast-drying. Mainly used on commercial vehicle like auto rickshaws, tempos, bus bodies when refinishing is required. Same method is applied as N.C. Lacquers for  base preparation, can be applied by spray or brush.

Brands Available :  DUCO, USCO, WAVLAC, ZOOM, SUNLAC, MAGIC SUNSHINE, ASPA etc. 
Available in metallic & non-metallic shades.
Touch Up Spray : Com Paint is processed by using the same brand of air drying paint as used by the Original Vehicle Manufacturers. Specially formulated from the High-Tech Acrylics and NC base paints manufactured by Asian, Nerolac and ICI-DUCO for touchup of Cars, Motor Cycles, Refrigerators, Washing Machines and Components.
Metallic Shades are two cans pack, Basecoat and Topcoat.
