Surface
Preparation of Walls : They should be clean, free
of scales, dampness, holes, properly done with surface, wall primer. Apply two-three
coats. usually wall coating by Synthetic
Enamel is avoided.
They are used mainly on door, windows, metal frames, wood panels etc.
Painting Wood : It should be well cleaned by sand paper. Apply wood
primer. Let it dry as per the instruction of the
manufacturer. Do sanding by sand paper to remove
loose particles and to make surface smooth & even. Apply two coats by brush
or spray. |

For Metal : Base metal does not have proper adhesion of any paints. It should be clean free of dust grease, oil etc.
Phosphating is required to have better adhesion. Phosphating chemicals available with
paint dealers.
Apply red-oxide primer or zinc chrome primer.
Now apply synthetic putty, so that if the surface is uneven, the dents are filled. Remove
extra putty by sanding. Synthetic putty is available in the market like Appcolite
(Asian paints)
Note : The container contains
some water over the base
putty. There is nothing to worry
because this is not any defect or problem but necessary to maintain consistency of putty
intact before use. Remove water, mix well and apply.
After putty apply two-three coats of enamel. Thin down with turpentine or synthetic
thinner to brushable consistency. Do not thin more, otherwise there shall be sagging
problem. Thin according to instruction printed on
